Is Opti-Behavior a MonsterInsights alternative?
Yes. Opti-Behavior is a self-hosted analytics and behavior suite that runs entirely on your WordPress server. Many teams use it instead of a GA4 connector for privacy reasons; others run it alongside MonsterInsights — GA4 for acquisition reporting, Opti-Behavior for heatmaps, recordings, funnels and A/B tests.
Does MonsterInsights have heatmaps or session recordings?
Not in the core plugin. MonsterInsights reports Google Analytics 4 data, and GA4 provides neither heatmaps nor session recordings. Heatmaps are only available through its separate sister plugin, UserFeedback (Elite tier) — and there are still no session recordings.
