How to choose #

  • Anonymous Mode if you want to limit the data collected (no cookies), or if your audience is sensitive (health, children, public services). Heatmaps, funnels, errors and recordings still work.
  • Full Tracking if you need returning visitors, geography and long journeys, and you already show a consent banner.

Until the visitor accepts, visits are counted cookie-free, exactly like Anonymous Mode, and the IP address is not sent to any geolocation service. After Reject, the same applies. With Pro, recordings, error and form tracking send nothing without consent.

Switching modes #

You can switch at any time; the change applies to new visits. Data already collected stays as it was.

Not legal advice. This page explains what Opti-Behavior does technically. Ask your data protection adviser how the rules apply to your site and country.

Expected result #

The chosen mode is saved; in Full Tracking the consent banner (or your consent plugin) appears to new visitors.

FAQ #

Does Anonymous Mode need a consent banner? #

Anonymous Mode sets no cookie. Whether your site needs a consent banner depends on your other tools, your settings and your country: ask your data protection adviser.

Why do visitor numbers change after switching? #

Anonymous Mode counts a returning visitor again each day, so visitors rise; Full Tracking recognises them.
