GDPR and form data: why field values are never captured

< 1 min read

Requires Opti-Behavior Pro. Form Analytics is a Pro module. View pricing or start the 6-month free trial.

Form Analytics is built to be privacy-safe: it measures behaviour, not content. This article explains what is and is not stored.

Requirements #

  • Plan: Opti-Behavior Pro

What is stored #

  • Per-field interaction counts, time, refills, blanks, and abandonment
  • Form-level views, submissions, conversion rate, completion time

What is never stored #

  • The values visitors type — names, emails, messages, payment details
  • Any personally identifiable field content

Because raw values never leave the browser, Form Analytics avoids collecting personal data through your forms. Combine this with your chosen privacy mode and IP handling for a compliant setup.

Field-Level Metrics table showing only aggregate counts and rates per field, with no entered field values displayed, demonstrating that form input content is never captured

Expected result #

You get actionable form insights with no stored form content to manage under GDPR.

FAQ #

Do I still need to mention analytics in my privacy policy? #

Yes. Follow the GDPR compliance guide for the recommended wording.
