Applying, stopping and archiving a test

< 1 min read

This article covers the end of the experiment lifecycle: applying a winner, stopping, and archiving.

Apply a winner #

When a winner is indicated, apply it. For Page Split this registers a redirect to the winning URL; for Element and WooCommerce it permanently applies the winning variant’s changes.

Stop a test #

Stop a running test at any time to halt variant serving and data collection.

Archive a test #

Archive a finished test to keep its results while removing it from the active list.

Steps #

  1. Open the test in WP Admin ? Opti-Behavior ? A/B Testing.
  2. Use Apply, Stop, or Archive as needed.
Running A/B test card showing live metrics with Results, Pause, duplicate and delete action buttons for managing the test lifecycle

Expected result #

The test moves to the correct state and the winning change goes live when applied.

FAQ #

Can I reverse an applied winner? #

Applying is permanent for the page; keep a backup before applying major changes.
